A fibroid isn't a piece of bad luck that landed in the uterus at random — it's muscle tissue that grows in response to a hormonal environment, chiefly oestrogen. That single fact reframes the whole problem. Remove the fibroid and leave that environment untouched, and you've evicted a tenant without changing what makes the building attractive to the next one. Ayurvedic care works on the environment as well as the symptoms — which is exactly where it tends to earn its place.
Bleeding
Heavy or prolonged periods, clotting, spotting between cycles — and, over time, the fatigue and anaemia that come with steady blood loss.
Pressure
A feeling of fullness or heaviness, a swollen lower abdomen, frequent urination or backache as a larger fibroid presses on what's around it.
Pain & Fertility
Period pain or pain during intercourse, and — depending on size and position — a bearing on fertility that deserves proper assessment.
Our first job is usually to make life liveable again: reducing heavy bleeding and the pain and pressure, and treating the anaemia that so often rides along with it. Alongside that, we work on the hormonal and metabolic terrain that encourages fibroids to grow — because oestrogen balance, liver function and weight all feed the environment they thrive in. The aim is to slow growth, ease symptoms, and lower the tendency to recur.
Treatment draws on all three principles — diet to support hormonal balance and iron status, classical herbs where they add real value, and lifestyle changes that reduce the oestrogenic load. Everything is read against your scans and blood work, and re-assessed with follow-up imaging so we're tracking what's actually happening, not guessing.
This isn't a claim that Ayurveda replaces surgery in every case. Large fibroids, fibroids distorting the uterine cavity, or fibroids causing severe anaemia or affecting fertility may need a surgical opinion, and if needed, we suggest that without hesitation.
Where Ayurveda tends to do better than surgery is in preventing recurrence — because it addresses the hormonal pattern that surgery leaves untouched.
Bleeding and pain often ease first; size changes are slower, and tracked on imaging.
Symptom relief — lighter periods, less pressure, better iron levels — tends to come first. Any change in the fibroids themselves is a longer, steadier process, followed with repeat scans rather than assumed. We'll be candid about what your particular fibroids are likely to do.
Your ultrasound and a recent haemoglobin let us judge the size and position, gauge how much blood you've been losing, and give you a straight answer about what Ayurveda can and can't do here.
